While the cap and trade program was never perfect it was something. Cancelling it without an alternative plan would be irresponsible. With only a little more the decade to change our ways before its too late this is not the time to be cancelling green programs. Read more

I don't agree with this government's plan to cancel the Cap and Trade Act. Bill 4 ignores the urgency of climate change, it gives little detail about a replacement plan and most importantly, it removes pollution pricing which is the only effective tool to reduce pollution.

I am not in favour of cancelling the previous government's Cap & Trade program until the present government proposes an alternative program that can be proven, with evidence subject to public consultations and public scrutiny, to produce superior results at lower cost. Read more

With the mounting body of evidence surrounding global warming, not to mention the latest report issued by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, we can no longer dispute the fact that climate change is the most dire challenge facing our society today. Read more

There is so much NON_BIASED evidence about human causing global warming that repealing cap and trade without simultaneously coming up with better anti global warming legislation is doing the citizens of Ontario (and the world) permanent harm that no trivial tax cuts will alleviate. Read more

We need every means possible to price carbon and reduce fossil fuel emissions at a rate of 5% per year for the next 20 years, at a minimum. Cap and Trade is one method that has some efficacy, and a tax on carbon at the source is even better. But both are needed. Read more
