The summary closure and repeal of so many programs, policies, and projects that have had a measurable positive impact on the state of our environment is one of the most troubling things that this new Conservative government has done since entering into office. Read more

It's clear to all that any consultations by the current government are pure sham. Nonetheless, please consider doing something healthy for children and their environment by developing The White Pines Wind Project.

On the surface I admit to not being the biggest fan of wind farms, however I recognize they are a significant contributor to clean energy, and a viable solution in the face of rising energy costs. Read more

I am deeply disappointed by the PC government's decision to close the White Pines Wind Project. Ontario needs to do everything in its power to meet its growing energy needs with renewable, sustainable, clean, and affordable technologies. Wind energy meets all of those criteria. Read more

I'm not sure what the wisdom was in shutting down a project that had already begun construction. We have growing energy needs in Ontario and I would hope we would use cleaner sources of power. This does not fit with the "open for business" signs we have in Ontario

Hello, I’m strongly opposed to closing down of the White Pines Wind Project. This project is in the last stage of construction with four of the turbines already completed. Once live, they could have provided enough clean energy to power over 3,000 homes. Read more

It takes years to build new electricity generating facilities. Within 5 years, there will be a shortage, according to the IESO. (the shortage is expected to begin as early as early 2020, according to IESO’s Supply and Demand Outlook (20017-2035). We’ll be buying electricity at a premium by 2023. Read more

I believe climate breakdown / change is happening with terrible impacts on my life and lives of many others. I believe we need alternative energy sources such as white pines. I urge Ontario not to shut it down.

This seems an act of revenge to the former government, as opposed to creating any new benefit to the Ontario public. If there was some actual logic as to why the White Pines Wind Project should be terminated, I would be supportive. Read more

Cancelling this project would be a waste of taxpayer dollars, with nothing to show for it. It is mostly built and already paid for. To cancel now just opens the province to lawsuits and there will be cancellation fees to pay in the hundreds of millions. Read more

I am writing to say I do not think the White Pines turbine project should be cancelled. Green energy sources are vital to the reduction of carbon in the atmosphere and it is clear that we are not achieving carbon reduction nearly quickly enough. Read more

I believe it is essential to work on developing more and more renewable energy sources. Why would you want to dismantle a project already up??? That would be moving backwards in regard to climate change. I encourage the government to support renewable energy projects - our world depends on it!

Cancelling the White Pines project is disgraceful. It is bad enough you took away Cap and Trade and ALL the benefits that came along with it. You played on votes of ignorant people who had zero knowledge of what Cap and Trade was making the province and us. Read more
