I am profoundly opposed to the proposal to reduce the Green Space allowance from a minimum of 20% to 5% even where an additional 15% is created elsewhere in the city. People need green space where they live, not in some remote area. Read more

We need our green spaces for environmental and human physical and mental health, not to mention other species. Normally new developments wipe out wild space, so this is also an attack on wildlife. Reducing the requirement for 20% in new development is a step in the wrong direction.

Green space surrounding all residential building is crucial and should never be eliminated. I am opposed to any change that could reduce the already minimal green spaces.

I am writing to express my STRONG OPPOSITION to reducing the greenspace requirement on new developments to only 5% instead of the existing 20%. The 20% requirement provides a balance between appropriate development and the health and safety of the community and the environment. Read more

Every new development should still be provincially required to allocate 20% of any development lot to green space (Community Benefit). My understanding is that under Ford this was reduced to 5% and that there is an option for cash-in-lieu. Read more

I cannot express enough how against I am this proposal around developers only needing to allocate 5% green space, down from 20%. Now more then ever the city needs Greenspace both for our mental health, local wildlife, as well as the environment. Read more
