The Greenbelt is important to the health of Ontario. We need to increase the size and quality of the Greenbelt. - Local food produced on the Greenbelt reduces carbon emissions. - Moraines such as the Paris Galt and the Oak Ridges filters water before it reaches urban centres. Read more

Green space is so important. While I understand that building housing is as well, there aren’t enough greenways and paths to enjoy. The pandemic has shown me that York Region could do a better job at creating more green space for its residents. Read more

It’s important that initiatives such as expanding the Greenbelt continue in order for us to avoid catastrophic climate change. In fact, I believe the Greenbelt should be expanded to include the majority of land in southern Ontario, and even stretch into eastern Ontario. Read more

I support expanding the Greenbelt to protect more of Ontario’s natural heritage and I fully support passing Mike Schreiner’s Paris Galt Moraine Conservation Act Private Member’s Bill that has been sitting in committee since 2019. Read more

I live in North York and have been visiting Greenbelt areas since I have immigrated to Canada 25 year ago. I go to farms, I go on hikes and walks. Greenbelt needs to be be protected and expanded, because it cleans our air and water as the population grows in Southern Ontario. Read more
