This is good idea as a first step towards compliance with mandatory reporting. But DO NOT remove the ability for Conservation Officers to lay charges on those who continue to fail to report or those who falsely report. Keep a tiered progressive approach towards compliance.
There should be a "graduated system" where there is a financial penalty for the first offense, (relatively small - in the $20-30 range - an educational opportunity) double that amount ($40-60) for the second offence.

This is a joke, we’re being forced to do the Ministry’s job and having it shoved down our throat. This started when the Liberals first gained power and has gotten progressively worse. Most hunters that I know already begrudgingly filled out these reports for fear of losing hunting privileges.

I support the proposal. Hunter reporting is critical to sound wildlife management and every tool to get hunters to comply should be utilized. As a first step a small administrative penalty of $20.00 to $30.00 added to the cost of the next licence is appropriate.

Main concern is the low threshold of the fine. $15 to $35 is a small fee to pay, especially in the context of the cost of paying for hunting and hunting related activities.
