This is terrible legislation on multiple levels. First, it is an absurd overreach of provincial power. Why is the province wasting its time and resources micro managing municipalities? Second, ripping out existing bike lines is just a stupid waste of money. Read more

This bill is embarrassing. Not only is it a complete overreach by the province into municipal affairs, but it's going to be completely counterproductive. There is no real data to support the idea that bike lanes add to gridlock. Read more

Reducing bike lanes only causes more traffic. People will be on the streets with bikes, scooters, mobility devices and other devices that aren't permittes on the sidewalk. This puts pedestrians in danger and causes unsafe driving conditions. Read more

I have epilepsy. It is under control but still prevents me from getting my driver's license. Thus, I depend on cycling to get me around the city, especially since it is faster than walking, and in most cases, faster than taking public transit. Read more

As a physician who cycles around Toronto all year long, this proposal is the least evidence based traffic solution. Please look at the research and invest in better active and public transportation. Encouraging single occupancy vehicles will only increase gridlock. Read more

This right off the top makes no sense. What does bike lanes in a city have to do with highways? And more roads and more cars means more gridlock. You will never build enough roads to outback gridlock Read more

This is great. Bike lanes can be useful if they are installed in the right places however far too often these lanes are messing up flow on roads that were just fine before. Bike lanes belong on side roads that run parallel to major roads. Major roads are for cars and need to be kept moving

These bike lanes save lives and fight climate change. Toronto is for Torontonians. The Premier of Ontario needs to stop overruling what the citizens of our city want. If he would like to resign from his position and run for mayor again next time, he's more than welcome to. Read more

This proposal goes against any form of common sense and is an affront to public safety. There have been way too many deaths of bicyclist in Toronto in recent years. We need MORE protected bike lanes, not less. European metropolitan centres are able to handle bike lanes and huge amounts of traffic. Read more
