I do not support this proposed bill whatsoever. Bike lanes are an essential part of our community and achieving our climate change goals.
The province has enough on their plate and does not need to get involved in local traffic issues that are a municipal matter, not provincial.

Time and time again you can see that bike lanes HELP traffic. Yet this bill would tear them up, wasting tax dollars just to ensure that traffic gets WORSE.
The provincial government SHOULD NOT be involved in municipal decisions regarding bike lanes. Road infrastructure in Toronto is completely different than road infrastructure say, in Woodstock. We need more access to safe bike infrastructure, and cater less to vehicles.

This bill is utter garbage! It's ableist and discriminatory. How is it ok to only cater to the those who drive? How is it ok to actively discriminate and further disadvantage multiple demographics by further impeding their ability to get around the city?

Bloor is the backbone of downtown Toronto's transportation network. It should accomodate all transportation modes (cars, public transit AND bikes).

The removal of environmental protections goes against everything Ontario stands for. This is not the way to reduce gridlock. Also, the province needs more bike lanes and transit! Not more cars, pollution energy costs.
Fully unsupportive of this. There is complete lack of rationale to remove existing bike lanes along with installation of future ones.
Municipalities have publicly endorsed master transportation plans and the province is overstepping its reach.

This proposal is a bad idea for several reasons.
First, it seems like an over-reach of the provincial government into municipal jurisdiction, and one that would set a bad precedent.

I am supportive of some items in this Bill. Particularly, requiring provincial approval for bicycle lanes that remove a roadway lane promotes driving over active transportation, causing more gridlock.

To reduce traffic, we should redirect funds toward decreasing car traffic - I.e. improving public transit infrastructure and bike lanes. Not the other way around!
Taking away bike lanes is counter intuitive to the goal that is trying to be reached. By dedicating the lanes to cars it makes active transportation impossible and more dangerous.

This is clear and unnecessary overreach. Municipal governments have more knowledge of what roads and what bike lanes are more needed.
I do not support this bill.
Cycling infrastructure is paramount to safer cities. Removing bike lanes will worsen congestion, not improve it. There are decades or research to support this.
