This is a pointless politically motivated stunt. Municipalities are more than capable of planning their infrastructure and can assess the viability of options for active transportation options without the need for provincial involvement. Read more

This is such a foolish thing for the conservative government of Ontario to even consider. All research surrounding bike lanes and their impact on traffic is positively in favour of bike lanes. Building roads just increases the number of cars. It never reduces the traffic. Read more

The removal of bike lanes and the stoppage of all future bike lanes that would remove lanes of traffic is incredibly short sighted, and dangerous. Many different modes of transportation are used in commuting, and all forms deserve a safe and reliable network to get around. Read more

Bike lanes are important, bike lanes save lives. Having individuals who do not live and bike in the city making these decisions does not make sense. Only when you see the impact and benefits of bike lanes can you make these decisions. This doesn’t belong with the provincial government

This proposed legislation represents another spurious attempt to interfere in municipal government from a provincial government which has already subverted approximately 180 years of municipal government in Ontario due to vested interests, an approach which has placed this government under investiga Read more

Preventing the construction of bike lanes that remove a car lane will not save anyone any time. It will cost everyone more time. Every cyclist is a potential car not on the street. Doesn't matter if there's 2 lanes when you still have added congestion from the extra cars on the street. Read more

This is a horrible, misleading bill that will endanger many people, including myself. The BRAND NEW University bike lanes are my and thousands of others' safest route to and from work. Read more

I ride to work every day. The amount of cycling traffic I see is comparable to the amount of single occupant drivers at the very least. I just want to get to my minimum wage job efficiently without dying. Thanks

This proposed legislation is totally wrong., This will not increase active transportation options, this will will not make biking safer. In fact, this proposal would put almost all of the projects in the city of Ottawa's Active Transportation Master Plan at risk. Read more

I strongly disagree with the proposed legislation. Assessing transportation and traffic is a question for individual communities and bringing the province into it is heavy handed and unnecessarily bureaucratic. Read more

This is absolutely archaic thinking, unsustainable, and anti-environmental solution to the wrong problem. Putting more people in cars is the problem. Building houses further and further out from the places people work without investing in multi-modal transportation networks is the problem. Read more

This is such a backwards way of thinking. Bike lanes save lives and they reduce congestion. The only way to reduce traffic is less cars on the road. We do this through high quality, effective public transit and improved capacity for cycling and walking. Read more
