I oppose Bill 5. I want strong environmental protections for not only our endangered species but our ecosystems. I oppose short cuts to industry with no public oversight. And I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones.
NO NO NO! Absolutely not. This has to be the lowest on the pole of corporate greed and this is a slippery slope. This fundamentally changes the protection laws and if this passes, where does it stop? I am completely against this. Please put a stop to it.
I am deeply concerned that protections for endangered species are being weakened by these interim changes and the proposed Species Conservation Act. Endangered species are the canaries in the gold mine that warn us we are in danger of sending ourselves extinct.

Bill 5 undermines the democratic process and is one the worst pieces of legislation Ontario has ever seen. Industries will just have to register in order to do what they like without clear conditions to prevent harms to species.
