Schools within 1km. Hazardous material and asbestos. York 1 just got fined for not documenting loads of soil they were dumping. We can’t afford to have this happen this close to people, rich farm land and waterways leading to great fisheries.

To even suggest that an environmental assessment is not needed, would also suggest that York one does not plan on keeping to the rules. An environmental assessment is absolutely needed to reopen this vacant land, that has been licensed as a dump in the 70s. Number1 It is too close to the town. Read more

Old permits. Too much risk. They don’t want an environmental assessment. Let’s require one and uncover why they want to avoid one so bad. They must know their proposed project wouldn’t go through if one is required

I strongly oppose the proposed Dresden landfill expansion and the Ford government’s attempt to bypass Ontario’s Environmental Assessment process. This project is a direct threat to the health, safety, and economic future of Dresden and all of Chatham-Kent. Read more

The area for the proposed dump site in Dresden is in a historic flood zone and is a known low lying area. To put a dump there is irresponsible considering the leeching of chemicals and bacteria into the ground and surrounding area for both the environment and the residents of Chatham-kent. Read more
