I am a citizen of Dresden and I am against the Dump. Why is it that Toronto can not look after their own garbage? Why should we risk our health, our roads, our nature to get rid of waste that is not even ours. If we have all that extra traffic, what will it do the Canners? Read more

This is totally unacceptable from our government. We need you to at least move forward with the EA. That is the very least you could do to help protect our small town and its surrounding environment. The Sydenham river is very close. Read more

It’s only logical to have a full scale environmental assessment performed to ensure no environmental impacts; once the dump has started, it will be too late to negate any possible impact. Therefore, we need to be proactive and aware of any issue prior to the start of this project. Read more

What compensation is the government and york1 offering the residents of Dresden? Their health is at risk, it will be impossible to sell homes at market value and they will be the ones adversely affected in every way? Pick a safer option, minimum 3.5 km from a large population. Read more

The waving of this act is egregious. The motivations behind this act does not think or care about the those living in smaller communities across our province. These communities do not have the infrastructure to support these massive developments. Read more

The Government should be ashamed of themselves for putting Bill 5 ahead of environmental issues! Trying to give the government overall power over common sense, environmental issues and the actual people who live in these areas. Read more

Removing thew environmental assessments for York 1 disposal site is a great way for the province to save a fortune on trucking and congestion on the 401 corridor. Just dump all of it into Lake Ontario instead if our town of Dresden. See how that flies at the next election Signed NIMBY! Read more

A dump this close to a waterway of this size is irresponsible. The Sydenham River runs through Dresden, Wallaceburg and Walpole Island. You would be polluting not one, but three communities. If government is making these projects easier, why not select a site with less determents?

Forcing Toronto's waste on smaller Ontario towns is WRONG! Foregoing environmental assessments is dangerous and will affect our land and waterways. Ontario should do like European cities do - burn your waste, don't just truck it out of your sight at the expense of the rest of the province. Read more

Doug Ford this was not what you promised. This was not what we voted for. This environmental assessment is very important. This landfall will have a major in fact on our small rule communities and not in a good way this was not what we voted for. This is a downright betrayal to Chatham Kent. Read more
