I am very concerned about this proposal for the following reasons: Create Special Economic Zones where it is unclear what laws, regulations or instruments will apply. It empowers the government to create Special Economic Zones where any provincial laws and municipal by-laws can be suspended. Read more

I am opposed to the special economic zones Act. I agree that Ontario should be self sufficient and look at ways to increase proficiency however when we are looking at removing assessments to evaluate the harm to the residents of Ontario that is irresponsible. Read more

Given the growing impacts of climate change, acts that allow unfettered development such as this one are the last thing Canada needs to bolster resiliency. We are already far off track for meeting 2030 sustainability goals - acts such as this will make these commitments even harder to meet.

Another terrible idea by this Premier. The environment needs to REMAIN protected. There’s zero reason to eliminate the endangered species act. It’s a horrible idea with even worse consequences. Figure out another avenue because destroying habitats IS NOT IT. I already deeply regret voting for Ford. Read more
