I do not support the merger of the Conservation Areas. Merging will take away the local decision making. Our Hamilton Conservation Areas are run & up kept very well. They take into consideration the local environment and the needs of the community. Read more

I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. Often this is the reason that lands were donated and the intention needs to be honoured. Read more

I m extremely concerned about the proposed expansion and mergers of conservation authorities in Ontario. Over the past 5 years I have been an annual member of the Hamilton Conservation Authority and have continued to see improvements in conservation through their work. Read more

From Hamilton: I SUPPORT the merger. Each Conservation Authority is getting too big, with bloated salaries and expenses. One has only to look at the battle between City of Hamilton versus the Niagara Conservation Authority......

Nature is for everyone. Doug Ford has no right taking our natural areas from us and all other living creatures. Our conservation areas are the brightest spots in our city. If Nature dies, we die!! Save our parks!! Read more

I am concerned about the proposal to merge the current Conservation Authorities into Regional Authorities. Environmental care and emergencies need people invested in and knowledgeable about specific areas - blanket decisions do not work in these instances. Read more

I do not want to see the Provincial government merging conservation areas. Local people are doing a wonderful job of managing their local areas. Large corporate entities are not aware of local issues and do not have the expertise to deal with local needs. Read more

I agree with Hamilton Conservation Authority’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. Further, I am not convinced there is financial benefits for centralized management.
