All some developers have to do in London Ontario is threaten to appeal to the OMB and then they seem to get their way. Just take a look at the sprawling mess that is London Ontario to see how the OMB should not work.

I support this review and reform to the OMB. I don't understand why Ontario or any municipality bothers to hire City Planners if their recommendations and advice are overturned by the OMB at every opportunity.
Please find attached full text of 'Solicitors White Paper',(July, 2016), adjunct to the public submission by the Regional Planning Commissioners, Ontario on Ontario Municipal Board reform..
Quite simply, I feel the OMB to be a redundant service. It rarely serves the public interest and too often overrides the democratic will of the citizenry.
I was an appellant in an OMB hearing, It was VERY expensive. Unless you are with a group of people it is just too expensive to do an appeal on your own.

Repairs to the OMB are desperately needed to make citizen participation easier and less expensive and to ensure its decisions UPHOLD provincial land use plans.

I attend most FoNTRA meetings and often discuss concerns about the operation of the Ontario Municipal Board with others. I fully support the Brief submitted by the Federation of North Toronto Ratepayers Associations (FoNTRA), and request the same changes be made.

These are my comments re the OMB review:
-The OMB should be scrapped because it serves no purpose other than appeasing the people (developers) with the deep pockets to get their way.
