Dear sir, Closer to us, most of the residents along the river side of Bay Road take their water directly from the Ottawa River and have their own water treatment system for their drinking water. Are heavy metals and other toxic substances filtered by residential systems?

How will the run-off from the proposed cement plant be treated and the toxic materials removed? What toxins will the public be dealing with? Will the people who drink water taken directly from the river be affected by toxins dumped into the river and if not why not?

I wish it express my total opposition to this proposed cement plant. I grew up listening to the logs falling off the conveyor at the pulp mill in Hawkesbury Ont. and smelling the rotton egg smell from the lagoons that are only being cleaned up today after decades.
