Passenger service needs to be offered between Northbay and Toronto . Former rider numbers declined because of changes to the schedule , late and delayed trains and lack of advertising .,Freight was obviously the priority.
Although I am generally impressed with the discussion paper, I am concerned that nothing is said about the maintenance of northern highways during the winter months. This is an ongoing issue which presents another significant threat to health and safety and contributes to frequent closures.
1. Cargo moved by Air in Northern Ontario is not represented in this document. The vast majority of freight is moved by air into Nishnawbe Aski Nation remote communities as the winter road network is no longer reliable due to climate change.
Hi, Regarding transportation and the development of Northern Ontario, not just good but very good communications is crucial. We living in the "North" has far to each hub, may it be Sudbury, North Bay, SSM, Thunder Bay or Timmins still these are the larger hubs in Northern Ontario.
