Planning for major accidents means Ontario needs to expand emergency planning areas. Ontario should expand its evacuation zones to at least 20 km around each nuclear station to match real-world experience and the best practices set by other countries, such as Switzerland. Read more

First let me say that nuclear power is a dangerous technology that we have no business using for any purpose. We have no real solution for waste storage and the consequence, should something go wrong, is a disaster of epic proportions for which we are unprepared. Just look at Japan. Read more

In light of the Fukushima disaster in Japan ,it is foolish to think such a scenario couldn't happen here...therefore I am urging this Gov't to develop and implement a sound emergency plan that will minimize potential damage and protect our citizens from an unthinkable nuclear disaster....
