What follows is our concerns to the proposed new quarry located on Lots 12 and 13, Concession 5, Geographic Township of Kingston, and City of Kingston.
The Elginburg quarry is a noisy industrial operation, frequently running on a 24 hour basis. Any private residence in proximity suffers from extreme noise and dust impacts and noxious fumes.
I have been a home owner at the corner of Bur Brook and Cordukes road for 35 yrs. In that time we have experienced near collisions with trucks while walking and riding our bikes. This road is not designed to have large trucks travelling on it.
The noise, traffic, dust and fumes from a quarry operating 24/7 is egregious.
Blasting, creates loud noise and land vibration, threatening neat by properties and could cause damage to existing buildings, some of which are very old.
I object to this application 013-1976: Permission to take 1,000,000 million tonnes of aggregate from a quarry below the water line on fragile limestone.
We have serious concerns which follow:
Please find my concerns regarding the reasonably expected social and environmental issues presented by the expanded private business operation of the Cruickshank Quarry, the proposed rezoning for the purpose of expansion of the existing open gravel pit and asphalt plant at the property at issue o
I am writing to you today to file an objection regarding the Application filed by Cruickshank Construction Limited for a Category 2, Class A licence to excavate aggregate from a quarry of 73.8 hectares located on Lots 12 to 13, C5 in Kingston.

I have many concerns regarding the application for the new Cruickshank Quarry:
There is a gas line which could be damaged.
The wells of many local people could be compromised as has been the case in the past, both here and at other quarry sites.
