I am in strong support of TOCore implementation in order to wisely plan downtown development in order to bring a more healthy complement of parks and development to the area.
I am writing to express my support for TOCore. It provides a coherent and sustainable vision of development for downtown Toronto, the core of the city that provides 51% of Toronto GDP, 33% of the jobs in the city, and other services, including cultural and recreational institutions.
Hello, This is the 3rd year my husband and myself have lived in downtown Toronto. Growing up in the suburbs, it was a huge adjustment. However, we chose to make this move as it would significantly reduce our commute times to work.
I believe it is important that we keep heritage buildings and streets, to remind us about the history of Toronto and how we have grown. We need spaces to reflect, and connect with our environment. We should not have high glass towers built to the sidewalk.
From the perspective of my involvement with Friends of St James Park, Toronto, a community organization working to improve the experience of nearby residents and visitors to the park, I support the Parks and Public Realm section of the TOCore plan.
I want to say that I am in support of the TO Core plan and appreciate this action to invest in social services and infrastructure to support the population living in the downtown core.
RE: Support for TOCore, the City's new Downtown Secondary Plan Much time and effort has gone into the TOCore Secondary Plan by politicians, businesses and residents of the Toronto.
I support the planning for Toronto as set out in the TOCore document. It represents a sensible, resident-focused philosophy of planning that is just what the city needs.
I am in favour of the TOCore plan as it will co-ordinate planning approvals and hopefully make the process more win-win and not win-lose. There are horrible wind tunnels being created, the parks are in darkness. Lets start planning smarter and for everyone.
As a student who will soon be graduating from an engineering program in Toronto, my decision to stay and work in Toronto (or Ontario, for that matter) after graduation depends very strongly on the liveability of Toronto and the GTHA.
To core is desperately needed ensure that future downtown development is community and park friendly. Without it, big money will control development and this will lead to a less livable city.
I strongly support this proposal, and believe that the provincial government should respect the will of Toronto and Torontonians in managing their own affairs. I believe there should be great focus on walkability downtown as well as commuting by bike or transit.
No casino! What a horrible idea for the waterfront. Also no condos or any kind of major development. The lakefront should remain natural and accessible to all. We who live downtown don't have a lot of options. It would make a great public park with some sculptures. Think of the Bean in Chicago.
"The subject who is truly loyal to the Chief Magistrate will neither advise nor submit to arbitrary measures. Junius". As a resident of Ward 27, I am impacted by the developments in my ward. I have attended many Community Consultation meetings, Community Council meetings, and OMB hearings re.
We live in the Riverdale/Leslieville area of Toronto and fully support the policies of By-law 1111-2018 (i.e. the TOCore Downtown Secondary Plan) for growing downtown Toronto.

Dear City Planners, I fully support the policies of TOCore that will establish a 25-year vision and goals for growing the Downtown. It directs growth, land use, parks and public realm, transportation, built form, community services and facilities, culture, housing, resiliency and water.
