On October 8, 2018, the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released another report calling for urgent action to reduce carbon emissions and hold the global temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius. As Canadians and Ontarians, we must do our part to reduce carbon emissions.

I wish to express by deep concern about Bill 4 and the abolition of the Cap & Trade program. While the evidence of climate change is all around us I find it appalling that the provincial government has more commitment to big and small business than to the survival of our planet.

I want a real climate change plan to reduce emissions, help people save energy and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy. Repealing this act would waste time, money and energy that should be put towards mitigating the problem.

The announcement by the United Nations concerning climate change shows just how much we should be concerned thus carbon tax should be mandatory! Climate change should not be a political issue but a personal one for each of us for the survival of our planet.
I am an Ontario resident and want this province to put a price on carbon emissions. It is manifestly unfair that we should all equally bear the costs of pollution when we do not all equally contribute to their cause.

I want a real climate change policy that reduces emissions, helps people save energy and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy. I want this Ontario government to be forward-thinking. If you are a government for the people, make policies for the people and especially for our young people.

I don't want to be embarrassed to live in Ontario.
If I choose to drive instead of walking or taking public transit, then yes, I should pay a tax.

As a parent I'm gravely concerned about the damage of climate change, both the immediacy, and in terms of the world that we leave for our children.
I want a real climate change plan to reduce emissions, help people save energy and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy.

Cancelling this is a terrible idea. It goes against decades of scientific and engineering research in order to fulfil a short-term political agenda and score a few points, maybe save a few dollars, at the expense of our health and our environment. This is not rhetoric.

Given the recent UN report detailing the dire need to cut global greenhouse gas emissions, I find it egregious that our Provincial Government is proposing Bill 4 to cancel the current cap and trade system.

Ontario's Cap and Trade program should not have been cancelled. This cancellation through Bill 4 takes us backwards. Funding needs to go into the hands of Ontarians to support them reduce their environmental impact.

Ontario's cap and trade system created funds for infrastructure projects which benefited all municipal governments and which encouraged innovated and efforts to reduce the carbon imprint. Ontario must show leadership in setting carbon emission targets.
This act is a disgrace to the Province of Ontario. At a time when action on the climate is crucial and requires our full commitment, the government has chosen to throw up its arms and abdicate all responsibility.
