This decision is an appalling one for a number of reasons. It goes against everything that a fiscally responsible government should be doing. It is also an abhorrent moral failure on the part of the provincial government to pull out of a plan that is proven to reduce emissions. Read more

Carbon pricing is a proven method of reducing emissions that does not have averse effects on the economy. There is no excuse for cancelling it. It is unacceptable for the Ontario government (or any government) to be taking steps away from climate action. Read more

As an Ontario taxpayer and grandmother of three small boys, I am outraged that the current Government of Ontario plans to cancel the Cap and Trade Program, which was designed to contribute to the achievement of Canada’s commitment to the Paris Climate Change Agreement. Read more

Do not let us turn into a backwater province flouting International and National guidelines for action to reduce man induced climate change. I want to be proud of where I live. Ontario needs strict laws to effect real reduction in our carbon footprint, starting with the greatest offenders. Read more

I look to my government for leadership to deal with difficult issues such as climate change. I am horrified that this effective instrument is being repealed without any replacement legislation. It benefits corporations that lead in effective pollution control. It benefits the middle class. Read more
