I think cancelling this outright is a bad idea. It would only make sense if you had a new plan in place already which you don't. Don't cancel something and then develop a new plan. That's business 101.

The Climate Change Mitigation and Low-carbon Economy Act, 2016 is an important Act helping to protect our environment. Passing the Cap and Trade cancellation Act would be a step in the wrong direction.
There is a strong need for a legally binding climate policy. The Ford government's breach of the Environmental Bill of Rights is unacceptable, especially in light of the UN’s statements on Climate Change!!!
Cap and trade has proven to be an effective tool to combat climate change. It has also been a positive influence for the Ontario economy. As such, cap and trade should remain in place and where possible, expanded.
I am extremely concerned by plans to cancel the cap and trade policy, unless my government plans to improve it with an even more progressive carbon tax. The IPCC report makes it abundantly clear that we MUST act now on climate change.

I would like to see our government to do more to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Proposed changes in Bill 4 should be amended to allow for a step up to our commitments and obligations to combat climate change to reach targets sooner.
