I vehemently oppose this new proposal. I am disgusted by the blatant disregard for our world that this Conservative government is showing by attempting to remove environmental protections. More money in the hands of corporations at the expense of this planet is NOT ACCEPTABLE!!

I believe this is an incredibly short-sighted and misguided initiative. While cap and trade has its flaws, there is little doubt that providing a market for carbon is the most cost-effective and efficient (as well as more classically liberal or conservative) approach to reducing carbon emissions. I am extremely disappointed that Bill 4 will eliminate the cap-and- trade system in which Ontario was a global leader. Climate change can be addressed but only if we start now - waiting will make it much difficult to tackle and certainly more expensive. Read more
