There is very little need for bottled water. We have lived for centuries without it. Yes, there are emergencies where it is needed. But we need to stop companies like Nestle that believe water is not a right. No more bottled water plants.

Water is a fundamental human right. The water in the water table belongs to the people who live there and is not a commodity for the government and corporations to profit off of. It's the government's responsibility, on behalf of Ontarians and Canadians to protect the water rights of it's citizens.
I definitely agree with this moratorium.
I do not think we should be allowing companies to take such vast quantities of water without the proper research. I also think we're giving away the worlds most precious resource for next to nothing.

Our Water is our most precious resource in Canada
In Canada we need better laws to protect the health our water.
Canadians should not allow for it to be sold.
Please review and terminate this contract with Nestle
Thank you

There should be an extension of the moratorium until a better set of studies are completed to understand the impact of removing water from the water table.
“I suggest this website content be sent to every home in Ontario in an envelope, not a flyer. Every resident of this province should be aware of the issues and proposals regarding climate change and Ontario's natural resources that are at risk.

It is high time that we discontinue selling a precious public resource such as this to commercial interests at ridiculously low prices.
Bottled water represents a significant insult to our natural environment via unnecessary plastic waste.
It is time to stop this ludicrous situation.
No one needs water prepackaged in a small bottle. Tap water is available everywhere. Lets use it with refillable bottles. Future generations deserve our conscious consideration about using bottled water
I support this moratorium as a guelph resident. Nestle is not the kind of company we should be subsidizing, as they bring little value to our community and profit off our natural resources.

I believe that the moratorium on water bottling permits should be extended for 4 years! Don't let big business get in the way of sound environmental practices!
I'm concerned about allowing access to the aquifer by bottled water sellers. The long term implications of allowing these permits is at best not known and the risk of doing permanent damage is too great to allow access without complete confidence that no long-term harm is being done.

Yes, I would like to see the moratorium extended for many reasons. I have been fighting for years to protect a very sensitive watershed in PEC from gravel extraction. In PEC we have very few areas with clean abundant ground water. We need to protect what we do have with strong regulations.

I support the moratorium extension because I strongly agree that water should not be a commodity to be sold, for profit, by a private company or corporation.

A moratorium for one year seems like a waste of time. Many of us are wondering how long we can go before our own water safety is in jeopardy. Bottled water is a first world problem that we should be eliminating. Not to mention the pollution caused by all those plastic bottles.

The use of ground water for bottling for profit should be banned. Period.
This is a limited resource that is critical for life and must be free and easily accessible for all.

It is completely unacceptable that we would allow commercial companies to take water, put it in plastic bottles and resell it. Environmental degrading and polluting!
I firmly believe that our groundwater and all other water resources should not be owned or controlled by any corporate entity, including Nestle Waters. It should not be considered by anyone to be a corporate asset - it is a PUBLIC resource.
