The only benefit of this act is to developers. Communities and municipalities will struggle. People need open space, public space, park space and these needs will be difficult to address when the choice is between parkland and developing other amenities and infrastructure. Read more

I voted Conservative in the last election. I'm disappointed to see Bill 108 shift a local concern, land development approvals, to a provincial government body. As a conservative I believe in putting decision making authority at the lowest level possible. Read more

I am in opposition to the section of this bill that refers to making decisions without considering prior actions taken in applications of appeal. I am specifically concerned about an appeal by the owner of a property in Bolton wanting to construct an asphalt plant there. Read more

I am very concerned with the endangered species and environment protection acts being amended in such a loose and frantic manner. I feel like this Bill (108) is being forced through without the proper research. I don’t see any relevant data the supports why the existing act needs to be changed. Read more

I don’t agree with the creation of the new authority to decide on services such as libraries, day cares etc. especially in Brampton. Brampton has very high property taxes as it is already and is extremely housing dense. Read more
