I heartily disagree with the proposed change in hunting distance. How much easier do we need it to be for hunters to take a life? This is not hunting, which requires skill and endurance, rather it is simply shooting. Read more

I object to the proposal to reduce the minimum distance requirement for placement of bait from rights of way for public vehicular traffic and marked and maintained recreational trails for black bear hunting from 200 metres to 30 metres. Read more

I object, the wilderness of Ontario is used by many who prefer not to cause damage. The bears are not dangerous, hiking, and recreating near where bear hunting happens is dangerous. Ontario better not allow this change to take place. Please do not make these changes. Thanks you.

Have you lost your mind?? You want to attract wild bears to gather within 30 meters of public places that encourage ATV riding and hikers etc and public roads.... AND have hunters firing rifles also in that area. Read more

Please stop persecuting bears. Stop expanding bear hunting, stop reducing requirements to keep people and bears safe. Many citizens have learned to appreciate and respect wildlife, including bears. We want them protected, not hunted by deviant people who get off on killing for fun. Read more

The majority of citizens of ON do not bear hunt, nor do they support bear hunting. The spring hunt is especially unethical, but no matter what time of year, luring bears with food and then hiding in tree and shooting them from above is so wrong! Read more

The further that hunters can be kept from public vehicular traffic and marked and maintained recreational trails, the safer everyone will be. Hunting is meant to take place far away from any place where public safety might be compromised. Read more

I totally disagree with this proposal. As someone who makes use of trails in wilderness areas I am concerned by the notion that the government would allow bear baiting closer to such trails. Read more

This proposal would bring bears too close to public trails, endangering those using the trails for recreational activity other than hunting. It encourages bears to come in closer to the trails increasing the likelihood of attacks on the unwary and opens the possibility of hikers getting shot. Read more

I object. Move bear baiting sites farther away, the wilderness of Ontario is used by many people, not just hunters and I do not appreciate the garbage/junk left by bear baiters. The bears are not likely dangerous. Hiking and recreating near where bear hunting activity happens possibly is dangerous. Read more
