Dear members of this committee, please in these times of environmental changes of epic impact to our resources do not put one of our greatest on the bargaining block! Put the needs of our communities and the residents far beyond that of the corporate profits you are considering trading it for!

1 year isn't enough to stop Nestle from stealing natural groundwater. This should be a life long ban. What this company has done to our environment in ways of plastic pollution is evident in the now overwhelming plastic microparticles found in almost everything. Read more

It is time we do everything to protect our water sources. We do not need people buying water bottles when there is good water in most communities. Our world is dying with plastic pollution and water bottle companies are part of the problem. Read more

Thank you for extending the moratorium on bottled water permits. This should however become a permanent moratorium. There is no way we should sanction the extraction of water from our water tables to put into single use plastic bottles that are then sold for profit by a private company. Read more

I am concerned about the impact of bottling water on our water system, particularly in a time of climate uncertainty. The waste from water bottles is also enormous and needs to be stopped, reducing the amount of bottled water that is available would help with this as well. Read more

The moratorium on depleting much needed water for humans to exist must be extended. It is unthinkable that large corporations are given permission to take water at very minimal cost in order to resell it at expensive prices. Read more

YES! Extend the moratorium. Extend it indefinitely. We need to protect our significant groundwater recharge areas and our aquifers. Water is life and we need clean bottle-free drinking water. Stop the PTTW when it comes to bottled water companies.

I strongly support extension of the moratorium on take water bottling permits. Indeed, the Province should go further and make the moratorium permanent for commercial water bottling operations. There are two major factors that should be considered in taking water for bottling. Read more

Indigenous communities have faced 174 water advisories as of May 2018 across Canada, some communities as for as long as 24 years (Council of Canadians, 2018). Allowing major corporations to profit off a resource that many do not have access to is an act of colonial violence. Read more
