I am responding to the proposed new framework developed by your administration to manage water-taking in Ontario. I live in Guelph, Ontario and we are ENITRELY DEPENDANT on groundwater for the drinking water supply for the 130,000 plus citizens who live in this city. Read more

At some point in the future the publics of the world will look back on plastic bottled water use. Surely they will see us as some sort of unthinking sheep to have tolerated this practice. They will have the ruined bottles to ponder. Read more

Priorities: The Source Water Protection committees point out the stress on aquifers if all permits to take water pump at their daily maximums. A University of Victoria Professor who was part of an international study points out that aquifers recharge at 6 per cent every 50 years. Read more

Allowing municipalities to weigh in on water taking for water bottling is a small step but is definitely not adequate! Giving host municipalities “a say” in the permitting process – isn’t the same as granting them the right to refuse. Read more
