Not too many people know that peregrine falcon numbers have equalled to or exceeded the highest historial numbers. Alot of credit of this recovery is due to falconers donating birds to the canadian wildlife service to be released back into the wild.

This is a deeply misguided proposal that simply seeks to pander to individuals who seek to keep wild birds only for personal pleasure and amusement. The existing draw system is perfectly fair as-is, and permission to catch a wild bird of prey should be a privilege and not an expectation or right. Read more

Please do not capture birds and use them as bait to kill other animals. The practice of using any animal or bird for human entertainment is disgusting whether tradtional, legal or not. Wild birds and animals have a right to be free, as we do.

From reading your changes you are proposing to remove the draw of 25 raptors in total and replacing it with a wide open 1 per Falconer and 1 per apprentice. You stated that there are currently 200 Falconers and untold number of apprentices, which I'm going to assume is 1 to 1. Read more
