** I am strongly opposed to expanding the Minister's authority for zoning orders. It is not good planning to override carefully considered local decisions. Read more

A title does not and should not allow entitlement especially in a democracy. Just because an elected official is a minister of whatever they cannot be entitled to unilaterally make decisions that affect the voting public without any input from the same. Read more

I strongly disagree with this proposal to enhance the authority of the minister with respect to zoning issues. Increased centralization of too much power in the hands of too few can result in major irreversible mistakes being made too easily. Read more

I believe this proposal is an affront to the democratic process. It does not allow other stakeholders -municipalities, individuals to participate on a level playing field. It is not transparent in that the proposed act does not require public comments and consultation. Read more

I believe the this act is yanking power away from the municipality for the minister to do as he or she may please. This includes forcefully imposing the minister's will over any plans the municipality or other stakeholders may have. Read more

I am writing to voice an extreme objection to the government’s proposal to remove municipal authority and citizen participation in zoning changes. The government should not have the right to bypass the municipality and it’s citizens in a barefaced power grab. Read more

I do not support destruction of heritage buildings/structure. I do not support building another super highway. PLEASE: more/better/safer public transportation accessible to all (less car-centric) & more bicycling infrastructure. No to less oversight. Read more

This is not right. The province should not override local planning decisions. The Province has no interest in local communities, local planning or the environment. Read more

I do not agree with these changes as I have no confidence that this provincial government cares about the environment whatsoever and has only short term goals of making land developers who donated substantial amounts to their party happy. Read more

MZOs are undemocratic tactics wielded indiscriminately and for the purpose of furthering the interests of those outside of the community. It is the people who should be giving their elected officials the approval to bypass process in the event of delays, and not the government itself. Read more

The use of MZO's by the current provincial government is accelerating. They should only be used in emergencies. MZO's should never be used without discussions with local municipalities and local residents. Read more

I strenuously disagree with the proposed expansion of the MZO. Public input and consultation should always be included as well as the right to appeal decisions. These are the foundation of our democracy.
