As someone who has lived in Ontario my whole life, it is absolutely disgusting that Doug Ford Government is trying to push through this proposal. I do not support it whatsoever. We need to be protecting our natural resources and conservation areas as a PROVINCE not just by each municipality.

This is not the time in the history of our planet to divide core and non core funding thereby potentially decreasing the funds available to care for the environment. If anything we should be looking to provide more resources to take care of environmental issues. Read more

In a time when our natural resources need our support more than ever the Ontario Provinicial Government is passing the buck to extremely cash strapped municipalities. This has unfortunate consquences for both human and our environment resources. Read more

I support the work that the Conservation Authorities have been doing to protect life and property from natural hazards. I support all their education and outreach projects and believe they should be handled through a watershed management approach. Read more

It seems there is some concern by conservation authorities that programs and oversight into our fragile natural resources and ecosystems are in jeopardy from these and other changes being made by the ontario government. I think they are correct in their concerns. Read more

I completely disagree with this proposed regulation change. It is crucial to maintain funding for what is proposed to be ‘non core’ We are responsible for maintaining and protecting our beautiful environment here. Read more

In a time when it is most important to protect the natural environments surrounding municipalities WHY would you make it so difficult for conservation authorities to provide these services and also dump more burdens on municipal government. Not much thought has gone into this proposal. Read more

Municipality’s in and around Thunder Bay will have a hard time funding our current 8 conservation areas. In COVID times, we need to stay spread out and what a better way than to visit the local conservation area to learn and explore with friends and family. Read more
