My father owns 4 and a half acres of lake front land in Beamsville. He bought it with the intent of severing it for his kids or grandkids. He isn’t able to do that because of the greenbelt. He pays almost $16000 in taxes to get what ? One bag of garbage picked up with recycling. Read more

I applaud this proposal. However if falls short. First there should be the largest possible expansion of the Greenbelt. Damaged areas to be restored with native species since non-native species provide no food for wildlife. It is critical that ecological corridors created and expanded. Read more

Caledon just like King township should prohibit development. Precious and valuable farmland planned for future development doesn’t make sense. If the municipalities rebuild on old industrial parks of Toronto, York Peel , and Halton region, there is more then enough land to rebuild. Read more

1. Paris and Galt Moraines should be included in the Greenbelt and all the Grand River watershed as it is source water for 800,000 Ontarians, now and over 1,000,000 in the future. Moraines in southern Ontario provide water for 4 out of 5 Ontarians. Read more

I am in favour of protecting the Paris Galt Moraine. I notice that this extension will protect water flowing into Lake Ontario. The Paris Galt Moraine seems fragmented at Eden Mills and Cambridge. Any protection of futher fragmentation would be beneficial. Read more

1. Our Greenbelt is threatened and destroyed by infrastructure going through it. Our government cannot dishonour and destroy our Greenbelt by building roads, pipelines, towers, highways, sewers, transit corridors etc. through it. You must cease highway 413 and the Bradford Bypass. Read more
