It seems that the new regulations will only address reduction of SO2. Should they not also address the reduction of particulate? This is especially applicable to FCCU. The fine particles from the FCCU contain heavy metals and will need to be reduced concurrent with the SO2. Read more

Telling these companies to reduce emissions by a certain date or else face fines per release is literally the same non-solution that's been used by the gov to appeal to greener voters for years while actually doing nothing. You think billion dollar industry cares about $100 000? Read more

I agree wholeheartedly that emissions need to be addressed for the health of our country, our people and our land. However, it must be done in way that is feasible, financially, for these companies to carry out. Read more

Let’s get real and stop killing people. We have been brainwashed to believe Canada is better than the USA when it come to pollution. The numbers are horrible and I don’t know how you can sleep at night knowing you are part of this.

Canada is already a leader in safe emission. We need to protect our local oil industry. Sarnia depends on these refineries for sustainability. If we continue to increase restrictions the companies will move somewhere that is affordable. I do not support this proposal.
