I noticed when conservation sent me an updated map of our farm for a wetland adjustment that all the symbols on the bottom of map were called HAZARD, ie wetland hazard. The timing of this is coincidental to bill 23 and the changes to the regulation authority that CAs have. Read more

This proposal allows Wetland Hazards in the rural area to take place without ground truthing. This will have an affect on agricultural businesses and rural homeowners. Identifying hazards for the urban area is very important as it can have an affect on areas with population. Read more

This comment is specific to the mapping of supposed “wetland hazards”. The maps that are being used in Halton are not ground truthed. Using these maps for land use planning decisions as well as you point out will impact and direct where new development will go. Read more

As I understand the process for determining the flood hazard includes assumptions regarding storm water management facilties (ponds) and their failure during a storm event. I believe it is included on the table under: Peak or Volume Reduction. Read more
