Please remember that retrofitting existing buildings through adaptive reuse is faster, far less labour intensive and has much less of an environmental impact than tearing buildings down to build new ones. Read more

If the government is truly interested in building more affordable housing quickly they would creatively repurpose existing buildings instead of tearing them down, rezoning, etc. We have many existing buildings that could be quickly converted that are under utilized. Read more

One of the things that would enhance middle housing is to allow basement apartments or suites, or even loft conversions ---- for extended family or for rental units, without allowing any Air B&B rentals. Read more

The developers are moving into modest neighbourhoods, buying affordable houses, tearing them down and putting up monster homes. The worst is when a modest bungalow with a decent sized lot is torn down, the lot is split and two monster homes are built on two narrow lots. Read more
