The key barrier in our Northern Ontario Municipality is a result of an influx of residents from Southern Ontario, who are overbidding on homes by a significant amount, causing prices to be out of reach for our locals. Housing prices have become unaffordable and continue to skyrocket. Read more

I have family members wi have gone up north for a job in popular area for tourism from may to Oct. It is almost impossible for Stagg to find places to stay to work. My family member and partner who will both be working there along with family member of her partner. Read more

Municipalities in Northwestern Ontario require crown land for development. Many communities such as Red Lake, Ontario remain “land locked” and are unable to develop because of a lack of available land. Read more

Water and Wastewater infrastructure are 2 areas where rural municipalities require additional assistance. In County's across Ontario servicing is the responsibility of the lower tier municipality which financing and project management our outside of their regular operating budget. Read more

The biggest issue for housing development in rural areas is servicing constraints. In keeping with adopting a more form based approach to zoning, housing regulations in rural areas should be based on servicing impacts and capacities rather than unit counts. Read more

Women who amor minimum wage and single mom’s who don’t have child support need affordable housing based on their income. A living Co-op would be a great idea where there can be an exchange for providing work on the complex or offer each other with child care or rides. Read more
