By removing the public meeting requirement, this removes the ability for important comment from neighbours and the community. This removes an important engagement piece with the greater neighbourhood and people who live, work, and engage with the area. Read more

The new areas which the Province has designated in Ottawa for residential development have not been previously identified by the municipality for good reasons - usually either protection of farmland or lack of urban infrastructure. Read more

I oppose the dismantling of the democratic process with regard to planning and land use decisions that have the potential to seriously impact existing residents and may have been made by people with no roots in the community they seek to change, or knowledge of its good and bad features. Read more

I am vehemently opposed to the proposal to remove the planning policy and approval responsibilities from certain upper-tier municipalities, especially the Region of Waterloo. Short of vindictiveness, there appears to be no motivation or rationale for this proposed change. Read more

Thank you for the opportunity to submit my comment. The proposed changes to the Planning Act and the City of Toronto Act are undemocratic and therefore completely unacceptable. I request that these proposals be removed.

I disagree entirely with Bill 23 and don't think it should have passed. I do not agree with any of these proposals or planned actions as any and all of these actions remove the decades of careful planning and thought decided by municipalities, planners, and conservation authorities. Read more

I am a farmer raising cattle in Rockwood. I have already commented concerning the changes proposed in Bill 23 to the committee. Again, the red tape reduction mantra of the Ontario government is just going to lead us down the path of mass destruction of the environment and the loss of farmland. Read more

There are so many issues with Bill 23 the entire Bill needs to be reviewed thoroughly with enough time for citizens to properly comment on the sections that matter most to them. I feel strongly that the omnibus bill and the speed by which it was passed are undemocratic. Read more
