Removing land from the green belt is a terrible idea. We can accommodate more people in a more sustainable manner by building more densely on land that is already built on. The Ontario government should prioritize medium density construction in existing areas zoned for single-family dwellings.

There is little to no public benefit to destroying environmentally protected land to continue urban sprawl. This entire proposal should be scrapped, and the resources invested into a significant expansion of public transit projects and densified, affordable housing.

The greenbelt should not be for sale. It is protected land and once it is gone, it's gone. We do not need to build more mansions for the rich friends of our Premier. Fix the healthcare and education Mr. Ford, this is where your focus should be.

The rezoning of greenbelt lands is shortsighted and excessive. Existing lands have already been identified as suitable to achieve the proposed housing growth. Further, in converting greenbelt lands we would be significantly impacting our ability to deal with our existing waterways and floodplains.
