This is complete disregard for the environment and the communities surrounding the greenbelt. This money should be invested in education, Healthcare and fighting climate change. Invest in the infrastructure we already have, don't bulldoze greenspace that is needed to protect our environment.

I strongly urge you to reconsider the removal of a portion of the Greenbelt. It is unnecessary, given the amount of land already available, and will be hugely detrimental to the environment and to our infrastructure, which is already failing to keep up with incoming populations. Read more

Given the current global environmental crisis and Canada’s environmental goals I believe that the continued protection of the green belt is of absolute necessity. Further, should this proposal go through, it creates a precedent that would weaken other conservation efforts throughout the country. Read more

The Greenbelt protects prime farmland, sensitive waterways and green space. The proposal to remove protection from this land will have significant negative environmental impacts that can’t be remedied by including land elsewhere instead. This is not the solution we need to improve housing. Read more
