I am strongly opposed to changes to the Greenbelt Plan. The proposed changes are directly contrary to what was stated by Ford and Mulroney, among others, as to what a Conservative government would do if elected. It is therefore against the principles of democracy. Read more

I do not support the proposed amendments to the Greenbelt Plan, which includes removing 7,400 acres from the Greenbelt. According to Ontario’s Housing Affordability Task Force, the housing affordability crisis is not due to a shortage of land. Read more

I am opposed to Doug Ford’s plan to develop the greenbelt. Develop more density within the cities! There are huge swaths of Hamilton (where I live) that are underdeveloped vacant lots or underused / vacant buildings downtown that already have water, sewer, transit - why not add density there? Read more

I fully agree that we are in a housing crisis and we need more homes, in a variety of forms, developed quickly. However, there are many ways we can achieve this without having to remove environmental protections or touching our Greenbelt. Read more

Creating a new highway will be both beneficial to society, and consequential for the environment. A multitude of factors must be accounted for before making a large decision such as this including the number of carbon emissions that may increase, as well as the land being stolen from the greenbelt. Please keep the Greenbelt intact. Supply additional housing within the urban area. I own a 25x100’ piece of land in urban Toronto. On this small plot there is a two storey building with 6 separate apartments. Everyone comfortable. Everyone paying taxes. Everyone contributing. Thank you.
