I am against this proposal. I haven’t heard any good reasons why land should be taken from the Greenbelt to be developed, but there are many good arguments about why we should NOT take land from the Greenbelt. I would like to hear more from the government about these points specifically: Read more

I'm appalled that Premier Ford has broken his promise to keep his hands off the Greenbelt. There's no need to carve up this ecologically important land mass. According to the government-appointed Housing Affordability Task Force, a shortage of land isn’t the cause of the province’s housing crisis. Read more

The vast majority of the population, save for a select few wealthy landowners, are not in favour of this decision. We are begging you to think of our environment and the active ecosystem present in the green belt. We are begging you to think of the citizens, not the wealthy.

DO NOT hand over the "protected" Greenbelt to developers. Be creative!! There are other solutions to develop new housing. This issue is not going away. To the many people I have spoken to not one, not one, not one, is in favour of giving up any of the existing Greenbelt.

Ontario and the GTA need to focus on sustainable growth without succumbing to the knee-jerk reaction to pave everything and build more low-density car-dependent single family homes and highways. We do not need it. We need sustainable growth. Look to the future.
