The green belt project is only fuelled by greed. Construction projects are being canceled due to cost. Destroying the environment for housing is not the answer. There are other areas where we can build without destroying this incredibly important habitat. Read more

The residents of this city have already voted and established a clear mandate on this issue. The mandate is to leave the Greenbelt alone. Please, for once, focus on intensification and brownfield development and STOP developing pristine greenspace that CANNOT or clearly WILL NOT be remediated. Read more

Citizens of hamilton voted NOT to expand our urban boundary. There are plenty of undeveloped parts of the downtown core that could enliven our city. Projects that have stalled or sit on land where historical structures were demolished only to sit unfinished. Read more

The Greenbelt is a permanently protected green space of forests, wetlands, and watersheds. In this time of climate emergency, we need more verdant green spaces, not less. Invest in population dense housing (affordable apartment buildings and public housing), and make the Greenbelt bigger. Read more

Please do not develop in the greenbelt. We're facing a 6th mass extinction, unpredictable weather patterns and overall change in climate. This is not the way. Northern Ontario cities want development and can welcome new immigrants. We cannot allow for further environmental destruction. Read more

Leave the green belt alone. This is not the answer to our housing problem. Cap the immigration numbers to help get the housing market caught up as opposed to just keep adding to the growing problem. Taking the green belt to build is and will be the quickest demise of conservative support.
