The Oak Ridges Moraine is critical to the protection of our watersheds and our natural environment. This is a huge step back and backpedalling on the Ford government's promises to not touch the Greenbelt. We should not be removing parts of the Greenbelt area in order to meet housing demand. I oppose this proposal. This idea of opening up 7,400 acres of the greenbelt is unconscionable. The Greenbelt is supposed to be protected forever. CONSERVED. There is land elsewhere to build on. Read more

Why is it thought that you can simply "swap" lands between the greenbelt area and elsewhere? Shouldn't we be aiming to maintain every bit of natural area that we still have remaining? I understand that we have a housing shortage but sprawling housing developments is what got us into this mess. Read more

I do not wish to see our green space that has protected designation be gutted by changing it’s status. We need our waterways, animals and the land this area houses. Please help to keep it safe from development. Read more

there is plenty of land set aside in ontarios development strategy that is available for housing to be developed it just hasn't been used. We don't need to open up more land from areas we have deemed as important to maintain for agriculture, Green space, and to limit urban sprawl. Read more

This proposal threatens environmental protection efforts across ontario and the adjacent watersheds. The housing crisis is not an acceptable reason to endanger local ecology for land development. Read more

I am very dismayed that Doug Ford’s conservatives are once again demonstrating their disregard for the environmental health of this province and by extension the health and well-being of the people of Ontario. Read more

This proposal plans to remove lands from the Greenbelt Area that are currently protected. The fact that they could be suitable for residential development in the near term doesn't change the fact that they were protected for very good reasons.   Read more
