I am in support of FOCA's response which encourages the proposed exclusions, whereby floating accommodations or float homes are not considered as “camping units” and thus, cannot be placed and used for overnight accommodation on water over public land. Read more

I believe your proposed changes do not go far enough to ensure that floating container cottages will be prevented from littering our lakes and causing upset to shoreline land owners. These container dwellings are floating homes and not vessels and they should be designated as such. Read more

A floating home is defined as a structure built on a floatation system, which is used as residence and is not intended for navigation or use as a navigable craft. In my opinion the floating homes on Gloucester Pool are not vessels. Read more

How did Ministry seek input through Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO) bulletin 019-5119 on the use of floating accommodations on public lands covered by water? How was this issue raised in the first place? By who? Read more

Why did the Proposal to amend Ontario Regulation 161/17 to the Public Lands Act to change the requirements related to floating accommodations go beyond its scope and accept feedback about other watercraft which camp on land? Were boating associations or boating business asked to comment?
