I am appalled at the proposal to establish flowering rush as only restricted and not prohibited. There has been evidence of it taking over areas around the Winnipeg River causing damage to native species and destruction to cottage owners' property. Read more

Flowering rush is a horrible invasive species that has no place in the lakes of Ontario. It crowds out other native species and native, aquatic wildlife, blocks off, waterways, prohibiting people from getting to their property, and propagates like wildfire. Read more

Re: Placing Flowering Rush on the Restricted Species List I am a property owner on the Winnipeg River between Kenora and the Whitedog Dam in Ontario Province. I am surprised that this proposal has been placed forward rather than placing Flowering Rush on the Prohibited Species List! Read more

I am in support of this proposal saying this I am concerned about the slow progress in creating invasive species plans as noted in the Auditor General Report from 2022 on Invasive Species. Read more
