I have seen security camera footage from a Bunting Rd household and can only imagine what the results of the explosion would have been had more employees or contractors been onsite. I have also been onsite at that facility and have seen unsafe conditions and practices. Read more

. There are serious charges pending against Ssonix. . Only the rapid response from the St Catharines fire department saved my neighbourhood from being destroyed by the January 12 explosion at Ssonix. . The response and clean up for this disaster cost a considerable amount of tax payer money. Read more

Obviously as this company has so many charges against it, their inability to follow the standards set out by the ministry should show their lack of commitment to safety. Their lack of inspection whether due to the pandemic or not is unacceptable. Read more

This company and its directors are facing a combined 84 - that’s eighty-four- charges under the Fire Protection and Prevention Act. For them to be allowed to reopen would be turning a blind eye to criminally negligent operation that resulted in the death of an employee. Read more

We live in the residential area adjacent to the Ssonix property where the fire in Jan 2023 caused evacuation and considerable trauma. We were fortunate that there were not more serious consequences. The company is facing 84 fire prevention and protection charges. Read more

Do not reopen this plant. It is not safe for the homes or the water and wildlife in the surrounding area. There are also no enough escape routes for the home and near homes being built. Protect the community and refuse the reopening of this business at this location.
