When Changes take place that will effect our wildlife I sincerely hope our government has prioritized the welfare of our animals and researched proper usage of these unethical traps. Many countries have banned snares. Why are we still behind this issue. Read more

I am appalled that any government in this day and age has not banned all trapping for fur. It is outdated and honestly barbaric .there is no need for using fur. Read more

Ontario has had a very poor record in terms of humane wildlife management. Laws around trapping need to prioritize animal welfare and should be informed by current, peer-reviewed science, not guidelines created by the commercial fur industry. Read more

Why are snares of any size still being used in Canada????? It's an outdated, middle-aged method of hunting. Read more

No No and No to trapping of any kind no matter where. You can catch and release the animal elsewhere-far far away from humans. Thank you.

Hello If we truly believe to be an intelligent species, then surely we can find an better and kinder way to deter wildlife from our farms and dwellings and other unwanted areas. I believe further effort is of great necessity in order to keep a healthy balance in our ecosystem.

I am a citizen who is vehemently opposed to snaring animals just to murder them for their fur. These snares end up trapping lots of other animals as collateral damage. I am totally against killing animals for their skin. So wrong. This should be completely banned

Hello: I oppose snaring in any form. It is unconsciously cruel and harmful to both animal welfare and the ability of the environment to first, recover from the current devastation and then recover. Use this opportunity to ban snaring.

Ontario’s proposed amendments to restraining snares are problematic as no peer-reviewed research has been provided to support the change, they prioritize the interests of the commercial fur industry and the farming sector instead of the welfare of wild animals, and there is no consideration for the Read more

it disgusts me that Canada/Ontario still uses snare and leg-hold traps. and now you're addressing altering those sadistic devices to cater to the horrific fur industry (so there's less chance of damage to the trapped animals' fur)? this is truly shameful of this province and country. Read more

Many countries have banned snares, Canada should do the same! Snares are extremely cruel and barbaric, they must be banned immediately! There are many humane, non-lethal farming methods that can be implemented.

Please end all snare traps! Restraining snares and the recommendation to reduce the size of the snare is without merit. Publish the research on the ERO page. Otherwise this isn’t a real consultation. This is animal cruelty! There is no science to back up what is being proposed! Read more

Why is this useless proposal being considered. When simply all traps should just be banned period. They are a hideous , torturous device. Why are you supporting a cruel, despicable fur industry?
