Under the proposed regulatory changes, the "new custom approach" allows the implementation of a smart curtailment strategy, rather than applying just blanket curtailment. Is there any consideration to include other alternative bat mitigation strategies such as deterrents?
It is unclear how the custom approach to wind mitigation will lead to similar results (for bats) as the blanket 7 m/s cut in speed. When reviewing the wildlife reports during the years following the application of the smart curtailment, what triggers changes to the program? Are there thresholds?
