I am opposed to the passage of Bill 5 as I feel it gives too much power to government, developers and corporations, while removing safeguards which are there to protect the public. It was rushed through without sufficient public education, input and debate.

I'm opposed to Bill 5. It will be disastrous to Indigenous rights and interests. It will be dangerous to endangered species. It removes vital features of the environment assessment Act. Vulnerable zones will be at risk. Provisions will endanger cultural heritage! Read more

Bill 5 is a direct attack on Ontario’s environmental assets. In today’s current climate crisis, it is not the time to reverse environmental protections. It is undeniable that weather has become more unpredictable, with floodings, wildfires and even tornadoes becoming more prevalent. Read more

I am against this bill. As a Canadian citizen I feel that this bill gives Ford too much control over choices made in Ontario, that could be swayed by personal wants of corporations, etc. that will harm the Province, the country in so many ways. No to this bill.

Schedule 9 of Bill 5 proposes to permit the creation of Special Economic Zones, SEZs which gives legislative power to the executive branch to not only create these zones but to define them and designate and define 'trusted proponents' and projects. Read more

Your government's discretionary use of power has repeatedly proven unsound in hindsight. Due process can be changed with appropriate consult but just overriding checks & balances is wrong. You may have the most seats in parliament but you do not have a mandate with only ~20% population support. Read more
