I am writing to express my opposition to this proposed exemption. These regulatory processes exist to protect Ontario and Ontarians from long-term harm and I feel strongly that major projects like the Ontario Place redevelopment should not be exempt from them.

I think this proposal is silly - part II of the environmental bill of rights is in place to help give the people a voice in environmental issues, which is especially important on land owned through their taxpayer money and at a time when we need to protect the environment more than ever before. I am vehemently opposed to the proposal for the Ontario Place redevelopment project to be exempt from (part 2) giving public notice and opportunities for comment, for provincial permits and approvals. It's the public's right to be involved in those processes. Read more
